В этом году 12 февраля исполнилось 200 лет со дня рождения Дарвина, а 24 ноября будет 150-летие со дня выхода его главного труда «Происхождение видов». В этом труде Дарвин по стратегическим причинам не стал обсуждать вопрос о происхождении человека. Он лишь намекнул, что его теория «прольет свет» на эту проблему. Знаменитую дарвиновскую фразу о «пролитии света» приводят как пример одного из самых «скромных» высказываний в истории науки (или самых больших «недооценок», understatements). При этом она является и одним из самых удачных научных предсказаний. Свет действительно «был пролит», и за прошедшие 150 лет было получено огромное множество подтверждений идеи Дарвина о происхождении человека путем постепенной эволюции от общего предка с современными обезьянами.

3) Эволюционная психология (тоже в широком смысле, включая этологию человека и других животных, экспериментальную психологию и т. д.).
Понятно, что в одном докладе невозможно рассмотреть подробно все факты и теории, связанные с антропогенезом. Поэтому многое придется опустить. Интересно, что сам Дарвин вообще не имел в своем распоряжении первых двух пунктов этого списка, а что касается третьего, то он фактически сам и начал закладывать его основы. Дарвин полагался на сравнительную анатомию и эмбриологию и этого ему вполне хватило, чтобы убедительно обосновать свою теорию происхождения человека.
Достижения палеоантропологии
Во времена Дарвина этого источника данных практически не было. Дарвин прекрасно понимал, насколько неполна палеонтологическая летопись, и он даже не очень рассчитывал на то, что ископаемые остатки предков человека когда-нибудь будут найдены. Поэтому в своей книге «Происхождение человека и половой отбор» (изданной через 12 лет после «Происхождения видов») Дарвин ничего не говорит о палеоантропологии.

На самом деле в то время уже были найдены кости неандертальцев, но вне контекста, без других достоверных находок, их было очень трудно правильно интерпретировать. В конце концов даже Томас Гексли решил что это просто какие-то дикие, отсталые люди современного типа.

Но в 20 веке ситуация радикально изменилась. Было сделано множество великолепных находок, на основе которых сложилась сначала довольно стройная картина линейной эволюции гоминин: от автралопитеков произошел человек умелый, от него архантропы, от них палеоантропы, или неандертальцы, а от них современные люди.

Однако в последние 15 лет произошел настоящий «прорыв» в палеоантропологии. Был открыт целый ряд новых ветвей эволюционного древа гоминин, которое оказалось гораздо более разветвленным, чем считалось ранее. За последние 15 лет число описанных видов гоминин увеличилось вдвое. Новые данные во многих случаях заставили отказаться от прежних взглядов.
Во-первых, стало ясно, что эволюция гоминин вовсе не была линейной, она была скорее кустообразной. Во многих случаях одновременно существовало по три, четыре вида гоминин и может быть даже больше, в том числе на одной и той же территории. Нынешняя ситуация, когда существует только один вид Homo sapiens не является типичной. Она сложилась сравнительно недавно. Например, еще 40–50 тысяч лет назад на земле одновременно существовало, по-видимому, целых четыре вида людей: современный человек, неандерталец, реликтовые эректусы в Восточной Азии и карликовые люди с острова Флорес. Есть основания полагать, что сокращение разнообразия гоминин было связано с конкурентным вытеснением архаичных видов более продвинутыми, и в первую очередь современным человеком.

Эволюционное древо гоминин обогатилось боковыми ветвями и разными альтернативными возможностями, как показано на этом слайде (5 из показанных видов могли жить одновременно в Африке; появился альтернативный сценарий происхождения H.ergaster/erectus от кениантропа и H.rudolfensis).
Это схема эволюции гоминин с сайта Smithsonian Institution. На схеме показано 18 видов гоминин, относящихся к 6 родам. И еще два вида людей на ней отсутствуют. То есть мы видим, что гоминины были довольно разнообразной группой приматов.
