Регулярная СИПАП-терапия дает хорошие результаты. В исследовании Западно-Австралийского университета приняло участие почти 300 человек, страдающих от ночного апноэ, из них 200 имели выраженные симптомы депрессии. При этом чем выше степень тяжести апноэ, тем глубже депрессия. После трех месяцев регулярной СИПАП-терапии симптомы сохранились только у девяти пациентов. Более того, никто из 41 пациента, которые сообщили о самоповреждении и суицидальных мыслях до начала эксперимента, не сообщил об этом на повторном осмотре через три месяца после окончания курса СИПАП-терапии.
