На самом деле в 1814 г. по проекту Артигаса было создано знамя «Конфедерации (Лиги) свободных народов». Основой был так называемый флаг Бельграно, хотя для различения от знамени porteños вместо голубого-белого-голубого горизонтальных полей Артигас предложил синее-белое-синее) с диагональной красной линией. Несмотря на «ужасы», которые виделись Сармьенто в красном цвете, он не был забыт, флаг Артигаса использовался как официальное знамя аргентинской провинции Энтре-Риос (в свое время входившей в «Лигу свободных народов»), а также до начала ХХ в. был морским флагом Уругвая. Флаг с красным-голубым-белым горизонтальными полями до сих пор является знаменем аргентинской провинции Мисьонес (также в свое время входившей в Лигу), а также партийным флагом «Широкого Фронта» (Frente Amplio) Уругвая – левой коалиции, лидеры которой Т. Васкес и Х. Мухика занимали президентский пост с 2005 по 2020 гг.

Книга является переработанной и дополненной версией кандидатской диссертации на тему «Анализ мифологической составляющей восточнославянского язычества», которая была защищена автором в 2008 году в Нижегородском государственном педагогическом университете. В книге рассматривается вопрос о сущности такого сложного явления, как восточнославянское язычество, намечаются возможные направления его изучения на современном этапе развития науки, делается попытка реконструкции представлений восточных славян о солярных божествах. Книга делится на два взаимосвязанных блока: теоретико-методологический и историко-этнографический.
В конце XIX века правительство Российской империи занималось организацией важной для мусульман религиозной практики – паломничества к святым местам, хаджа. Таким образом власть старалась взять под контроль мусульманское население России, интегрировать его в имперское пространство, а также расширить свое влияние в соседних странах. В 1920-е годы советская власть восстановила имперскую инфраструктуру хаджа. Хотя с усилением ксенофобских тенденций в 1930-х хадж был свернут, влияние СССР на Ближнем Востоке во многом опиралось на остатки прежней инфраструктуры.
